Producer/Writer
Originally from Springfield, Ohio, Phil graduated from the College of Business at Ohio University. He worked in the software/internet industry for a number of years before entering the film industry.
In 2000, Phil joined PDI/DreamWorks, a division of DreamWorks SKG, where he worked in visual effects on a number of films, including THE MEXICAN, EVOLUTION and Steven Spielberg's futuristic epics ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: A.I. and MINORITY REPORT. He moved into production management at DreamWorks Animation, where he worked on SHREK and MADAGASCAR. While serving as production supervisor of animation on the DreamWorks blockbuster SHREK 2, Phil also oversaw production more than 30 SHREK 2-related commercials, SHREK 2 DVD bonus material, and the CGI/live action Shrek interview for the 2004 Barbara Walters Oscar Special.
In 2004, Phil returned to Ohio where he worked in pre-production for Disney on the video release THE FOX AND THE HOUND 2.
In 2005, Phil co-wrote and produced the live action feature film HORRORS OF WAR. The film experienced a limited theatrical release in the spring and summer of 2006, opening to a sold out show, and closing with a sold out show at the Two Boots Pioneer Theater in New York Cityâ™s East Village. HORRORS OF WAR has played in excess of 20 film festivals and won several awards, including Best Special Effects at the Fright Night Film Festival HORRORS OF WAR is now in worldwide video release through Maverick Entertainment.
Phil is a full time lecturer at The Ohio State Universityâ™s Department of Theatre where he teaches Screenwrting and acts as a faculty advisor for Buckeye TV. Phil also lectures at ACCAD (The Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design), where he teaches film and animation in the departmentâ™s masters program.Â
In addition to his feature film work, Phil works in freelance film and video production.
